About the race

Are you ready for a downtown adventure? The Mad Cow is an urban adventure race within the confines of the bustling metropolis of Columbus, Ohio. Throughout the 6-hour Mad Cow Urban Adventure Race, you''ll experience both the urban side of Columbus and some of the numerous adventure opportunities within the city. Team up with friends or tackle the challenge as a solo for this adventure.

The race will consist of at least three different disciplines, including urban trekking, canoeing/kayaking, and urban biking.

 

Location

Columbus, Ohio, is the 15th largest city in the US and capital of Ohio. The start location will be at Confluence Park near downtown.

 

Boats

Each team is required to supply all their own gear including boats. Rentals of canoes, PFDs, and paddles will be available for $15/canoe.

 

Fees

The entry fee for the Mad Cow Urban Adventure Race is $45/person. Free race T-shirts are included in the entry fee for all racers. There will also be a limited quantity of shirts available for purchase on the day of the event.

The deadline for mail-in registration is Monday, June 22, 2009. The deadline for online registration is Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 11:59pm. There will be NO raceday registration available.

Schedule

Race Start -- 8:00am
Race Cutoff -- 2:00pm
Post-race meal -- 2:00 - 3:00pm
 

Additional Information

At registration, your team will be provided with the basic information you will need to begin organization of your gear prior to receiving your race map(s). At the race briefing you will receive all additional information you will need for the start of the race.

Each team will be provided pre-marked map(s) for the course. Each team will be provided with a race punchcard and a set of race instructions. The maps, punchcard and race instructions are the responsibility of the team once they have been distributed.

No support crew will be needed.

Any additional information regarding the race will be posted on this website and sent to team captains as needed.
